How we verify information

Every factual claim is tracked in a structured fact registry. Historical claims require at least three independent sources. Opening hours and contact details are verified against official websites. Each place page shows when it was last checked.

We use a rubric scoring system rather than subjective star ratings. Five objective criteria — heritage significance, public accessibility, atmosphere, critical reputation, and value — determine each place's score.

Keeping it current

Oxford changes. Pubs close, restaurants open, museums update their hours. We run regular audits to flag stale information and prioritise updates. Community corrections are essential to this process.
