Gloucester Green Market fills the square off George Street four days a week with a rotating mix of street food vendors, fresh produce stalls, artisan goods, vintage clothing, and general retail. The square sits next to the bus station, making it one of the first things many visitors encounter in Oxford.

The market is operated by LSD Promotions. The mix changes by day — Saturdays tend to be the busiest and most varied. Art Fridays on the first Friday of each month add a dedicated art and craft focus.

What to expect

Street food from around the world — Thai, Mexican, Ethiopian, Lebanese, and more — alongside fruit and vegetable stalls, cheese sellers, bakers, and florists. The non-food stalls cover vintage clothing, handmade jewellery, candles, prints, and gifts. Quality varies by stall, but the food vendors are generally reliable.

Good to know

Open-air market, so weather-dependent for comfort. The square has some covered seating areas. The Covered Market is a five-minute walk away if you want the indoor equivalent. Gloucester Green car park is directly adjacent.
