Jericho Coffee Traders started as a roastery and built outward from there. The coffee is sourced directly from farms, roasted in Oxford, and prepared by baristas who visibly care about extraction times and milk temperatures. This is specialty coffee done right — technically excellent but never pretentious. The beans are good, and you can taste the difference between their single origins in a way that justifies the attention to detail.

The High Street location is their flagship, a bright and airy space that pulls in students, academics, and tourists without feeling like any one group dominates. There are additional locations around Oxford, but this is the one to visit.

What to order

The espresso-based drinks are outstanding — the flat white is textbook. The filter coffee options rotate and are always worth asking about. If you want to understand what the beans taste like, order a V60 pourover. The pastries are simple but well-chosen. They sell bags of their roasted coffee, which makes a good Oxford souvenir.

Good to know

The High Street shop gets busy mid-morning — early or after lunch is quieter. Seating is limited but turns over quickly. Multiple locations across Oxford if this one's full. They take the ethical sourcing seriously — each coffee comes with traceability information about the farm and region. Card payments preferred.
