Curzon Oxford is the city's five-screen arthouse multiplex, on the rooftop level of the Westgate Oxford shopping centre. It opened in October 2017 as part of the Westgate's overall £440-million redevelopment, sharing the roof terrace with restaurants and an outdoor terrace bar.

Curzon Oxford is part of Curzon Cinemas, the London-headquartered arthouse chain founded in 1934 as a single screen in Wingate House, Mayfair. The group has expanded steadily over the last two decades into a national arthouse circuit, with the Oxford site one of its larger venues outside London.

What's on

Programming is the standard Curzon arthouse menu: contemporary world cinema, independent releases, restored classics, opera and ballet relays from the Royal Opera House, and frequent Curzon-distributed exclusives that don't reach the Phoenix or the UPP. Tickets are at the higher end of the Oxford cinema range — adult evening seats typically £14–£16, with Curzon Members paying around half that and getting access to advance booking, free previews and bar discounts. All five screens have reserved seating and reclining seats.

Visiting

Take the escalators or lift in the Westgate up to the roof-terrace level; Curzon's entrance sits between the restaurants. The Curzon bar is open to ticket-holders and walk-ins. The Westgate's main car park is in the basement; cycle parking on the ground floor. The cinema's location inside a shopping centre means it is the most weather-proof option in Oxford — useful for a wet afternoon with a meal at one of the rooftop restaurants either side.
