The Brush Shop
Every type of brush imaginable — a Covered Market institution.
The Brush Shop sells brushes. Every kind of brush. Hairbrushes, clothes brushes, boot brushes, scrubbing brushes, bottle brushes, pastry brushes, nail brushes, bath brushes, and specialist cleaning brushes for things you didn't know needed cleaning. It's one of those Covered Market stalls that visitors walk past three times before stopping — and then spend twenty minutes inside.
The stock is traditional — natural bristle, solid wood handles, built to last. Many of the brushes are made by small British manufacturers. The staff know their stock and can advise on which brush does what.
What to buy
A clothes brush is the classic purchase. The boot brushes are popular with anyone who wears leather shoes. The kitchen brushes (washing-up, bottle, vegetable) are practical and well-priced. The shaving brushes and bath brushes work well as gifts.
