BREW
Specialty coffee and pour-overs on the corner of Banbury Road and North Parade — Oxford's serious coffee destination since 2013.
BREW has been serving specialty coffee in this corner of Oxford since 2013, and in 2026 moved a few doors north to take the corner unit where North Parade Avenue meets Banbury Road. It's a proper coffee shop in the purist sense — single-origin espressos, pour-overs on the brew bar, and a rotation of beans from roasters around the world. If you care about how your coffee is made, this is where you come.
The brew bar is the centrepiece. Filter coffees are made to order using whichever method suits the bean — V60, AeroPress, Chemex. The espresso is equally considered. They also stock beans to take home and the equipment to make them with.
What to order
The pour-over is the thing to try if you haven't been before — ask what's on and let them recommend. Espresso drinks are well-made. The homemade cakes are good, and the Thursday doughnuts have a following. Teas are properly sourced too.
Good to know
Small space — a handful of seats inside, a few more outside when the weather allows. Not a place to set up a laptop for hours, but ideal for a focused coffee stop. The corner site puts it between Summertown and the city centre, and steps from the North Parade Market on its 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
