Sartorelli's
Wood-fired sourdough pizza in the Covered Market — a sister business of Church Hanbrewery, with a long communal counter and a separate 'Pizza in the market' takeaway hatch.
Sartorelli's runs a long wooden frontage along one side of the Covered Market's central avenue, with a separate slice-and-walk hatch a few yards down and a communal table set out in front for those who want to sit. The kitchen describes the style as classic Neapolitan-style sourdough, baked in a wood-burning oven; the sourdough starter, by the founders' own account, is named Sarah.
Sartorelli's started in April 2020 as a Covid-lockdown takeaway out of the Church Hanbrewery taproom near Witney, opened in the Covered Market in March 2022, and now sits alongside three sister businesses run by the same founders, Christian and Magnus: Church Hanbrewery (the Witney brewery), Teardrop Bar and The Market Cellar Door — the latter two also in the Covered Market, with the Cellar Door curating the wine list here. The Oxford branch picked up a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2023.
Closed Mondays.
